Chargers Start Season Strong With a 55–30 Win Over Bay View

The Chariho Chargers girls basketball team opened their season with a statement. They rolled to a 55 to 30 victory over Bay View Academy and put on a defensive clinic in the process, allowing just one point in the entire third quarter.

Junior guard #20 Menuhki Harris set the pace for the Chargers and finished the night with 20 points. Sophomore #24 Tessa Aiello added 12 of her own, giving Chariho a steady scoring punch throughout the game. Freshman #4 Hattie Edmunds made her high school debut and looked right at home, dropping in 9 points in her first varsity appearance.

Even with the standout performances, what made the win so impressive was how balanced this Chargers team looked. Nine different players scored, which gives Coach Dan LaBelle plenty to feel good about as he begins his fifth season leading the girls program at his alma mater. When he is not on the sidelines, Coach LaBelle is part of the 32One Media family, but on opening night he was fully focused on guiding his team to a confident start.

Chariho heads to Barrington this Friday, December 12, for their next matchup against the Eagles. Their first home game is coming up on Wednesday, December 17, and fans can catch all the action right here on the 32One Media Network.

A dominant start for a team that looks ready for a big season.
