Located at 39 Kingstown Road, this beloved local ice cream stop has long been known as the kind of place where families, friends, and neighbors gather for a treat and a little taste of summer.  Now, the story is continuing in a new way. In 2024, the shop was passed on to members of the family, JJ and Allison Glaude, keeping the Lickety Splits name alive while ushering in its next chapter. More recently, the same ownership team also took over neighboring Higher Grounds Community Coffeehouse, expanding their footprint right next door and strengthening what has already become a true local gathering place in Richmond. What makes Lickety Splits special is not just the ice cream. It is the feeling of walking into a place that is woven into the community. Nearly 30 years in, it still feels personal, family-run, and full of hometown charm. With Higher Grounds now part of the same family, this corner of Richmond is becoming even more of a destination for coffee, ice cream, and connection.       🎥 Watch more local sports & community stories: [Subscribe to 32One Media on YouTube for paywall-free high school sports, local shows, and community spotlights across Rhode Island and southeastern Connecticut.](https://www.youtube.com/@32onemedia) This broadcast is made possible by local businesses who support our athletes and communities: 🏬 Local Business Directory → [Click Here](https://32onemedia.com/business-directory)   calendar icon Apr 10, 2026 8:00:00 AM · Reading time 1 [mailto:?subject=Check%20out%20https://32onemedia.com/articles/chariho/lickety-splits-2026-04-10&utm_medium=social&utm_source=email%20&body=Check%20out%20https://32onemedia.com/articles/chariho/lickety-splits-2026-04-10&utm_medium=social&utm_source=email](mailto:?subject=Check%20out%20https://32onemedia.com/articles/chariho/lickety-splits-2026-04-10&utm_medium=social&utm_source=email%20&body=Check%20out%20https://32onemedia.com/articles/chariho/lickety-splits-2026-04-10&utm_medium=social&utm_source=email) --- [![32One Media](https://32onemedia.com/hs-fs/hubfs/600206109_870746052341097_9159727197082237368_n%20(1).jpg?width=100&height=100&name=600206109_870746052341097_9159727197082237368_n%20(1).jpg) ](https://32onemedia.com/articles/author/32one-media) ### [ 32One Media](https://32onemedia.com/articles/author/32one-media) 32One Media connects communities through sports broadcasts, business, and local content. - [America 250 Westerly Time Capsule Ceremony, 07-04-2026](https://32onemedia.com/articles/america-250-westerly-time-capsule-ceremony-07-04-2026) - [Sports Open Mic, 07-04-2026](https://32onemedia.com/articles/shows/sports-open-mic-07-04-2026) - [Alliance for Better Long Term Care, Keri Salinger ED | Friday Friends with RI Elder Info, 07-03-2026](https://32onemedia.com/articles/shows/alliance-for-better-long-term-care-friday-friends-07-03-2026) - [32One This Morning, 07-03-2026](https://32onemedia.com/articles/shows/32one-this-morning-07-03-2026) ![Community Spotlight: Higher Grounds](https://32onemedia.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Higher%20Grounds.jpg?width=600&name=Higher%20Grounds.jpg) Higher Grounds Coffee House in Richmond is a beloved local café that recently began an exciting new...
