Prout kept its postseason run alive Sunday with a 6-3 victory over Westerly in the Division I softball playoffs. Megan Gardiner tossed a complete game, allowing three runs while continuing her streak of strong outings in the circle. Kelsea Flaherty led the Crusaders' offense, going 2-for-3 with a triple, a stolen base and two RBI, while Sara Slitt added two hits and an RBI. For Westerly, Frankie Arnold provided the biggest spark at the plate, finishing 2-for-3 with a home run, double and stolen base. Addison Poole contributed an RBI triple, and Avery Gingerella turned in two scoreless innings of relief. The loss ends Westerly’s season at 15-10-1, while Prout advances to face No. 4 seed North Kingstown in the third round of the Division I one loss bracket.
