Chariho Sports Inaugural Season on 321 Media
As a proud Chariho graduate, a former football player for the Chargers, and a lifelong sports fan, I’m beyond thrilled to announce that I’ll be leading the announce team for Chariho High School sports this year on 321 Chariho. This inaugural season is something I’ve been dreaming about for a long time, and to have the opportunity to return to my alma mater in this way is nothing short of incredible.
For those who don’t know me, my name is Ben Barber, and I’m one of the owners of 321 Media. Last year, I had the absolute privilege of broadcasting over 100 games for Westerly High School alongside “The Voice,” Greg Murano. It was an incredible experience, and I learned a lot from Greg, who’s a legend in the booth. Now, as we launch 321 Chariho, I’m excited to bring that same energy, passion, and commitment to the Chariho community.
Having played football for the Chargers and for the Chariho Cowboys, I know firsthand what sports mean to this community. The lessons learned on the field, the camaraderie with teammates, and the pride that comes with representing Chariho are experiences that stick with you for life. I’m honored to now be on the other side, bringing the excitement of the game to fans, families, and alumni who can’t always be in the stands.
This year, we’re planning to cover as many sports as possible, starting with football, field hockey, boys and girls soccer, and volleyball for the fall season. We’ll be there, week in and week out, to bring you live coverage of the Chargers in action. It’s going to be a big year, and I’m confident that Chariho is going to shine on and off the field.
One of the things I’m most excited about is the chance to introduce different voices to our broadcasts throughout the year. We’ll be welcoming various guests as analysts for Chariho sports coverage, including former players, coaches, staff, and more. These individuals will bring unique perspectives and insights to the games, and I think our listeners will love hearing their takes on what’s happening on the field, court, or pitch.
Whether it’s breaking down a big play in football, analyzing a crucial goal in soccer, or providing commentary on a close volleyball match, our goal is to make every broadcast as engaging and informative as possible. We’re going to be there for the big moments, the nail-biters, the victories, and the heartache, capturing it all with the passion that defines Chariho sports.
I’m looking forward to connecting with the community and to showcasing the talent and heart of our athletes. This inaugural season on 321 Chariho is going to be something special, and I’m proud to be a part of it. We’re going to work hard to make sure you don’t miss a single moment of Chargers sports this year.
