Westerly Softball vs Smithfield, 05-21-2026

In the preliminary round of the Division I softball playoffs, Frankie Arnold delivered twice in clutch moments as Westerly walked off Smithfield 5-4 in nine innings! Arnold tied the game with an RBI single in the seventh, then won it in the ninth with a two-out hit that scored Ella Keegan. Arnold also struck out 14 over nine innings and finished 3-for-5 with two RBI. Smithfield grabbed a late 4-3 lead in the seventh before Westerly answered. Alison Maranda started the rally with a single, and Keegan later set up the winning run with a two-out hit and stolen base. The Bulldogs advance to the double-elimination bracket, where they will face Cranston West next week.
